What it's like to be part of the Nourish Your Mind family...

I really do appreciate all the time and effort that Jessica puts into my care. I sometimes feel as I am her only patient, but I know I am not. That is just how dedicated I believe Jessica is. I am learning new techniques to cope with stress which is helping me communicate better with my family. Having someone who listens and understands my daily problems is a huge help. Charles, Warwick, NY
This group has helped my whole family in many ways. I believe the connection we have developed with our clinicians has really made an impact. They listen to our experiences and follow our lead to make us comfortable. I have already referred several friends to Nourish Your Mind. I have told them how accommodating the group has been to my family’s needs, as well as the excellent and caring support we have been given. I truly feel the whole team of therapists supporting us. Jackie C., Central Valley, NY
Honestly, so many people forego therapy because they are worried about insurance, so I would first encourage them to check out the practice because this has been the smoothest experience in that respect. My therapist and the work is much more focused on the present and learning how to work through current issues with practical strategies. I also like that we spend some time practicing mindful meditation, especially when I'm more agitated. The best part, for me, is the communication and support. Appointment reminders via text are also very helpful. Dianne G., Monroe, NY
I feel interaction and helpful suggestions rather than some therapists who just reflect your statements back to you. That is not helpful at all. Rosa has given me tools to use, and when I remember to use them, they are very supportive and help me to contain my anxiety. When I started coming I was completely at the end of my rope, now I am starting to feel better and see some value in life. I am thankful that my doctor sent me here, I was really at the end of my rope and I am grateful for being referred and for the help I am receiving. I wish I had this support a long time ago. Lynn, Middletown, NY
I realized that I am the one who needs to do the work if I am going to change. I was always looking at therapy as a way to have someone tell me what was wrong and exactly how to fix it. Nourish Your Mind has taught me how to do that for myself. Our family has been going through a difficult time with a separation during the past year. Gina has helped my daughter to understand it better and to help her with our relationship. My daughter and I have used this difficult time to become closer and more open with each other. Lauren has helped me to see the fuller picture of my separation with my husband and how thinking with a different perspective can help me to understand and approach my feelings and insecurities in a whole new way. We love and trust them both implicitly. Patricia, Monroe, NY
Amanda has given me so many life skills. I feel so comfortable speaking with her. It never feels stuffy or clinical - which is a good thing! I never found traditional talk therapy helpful. I think the skills and small changes I’ve learned have helped make a true impact in my life. Amanda is a safe haven for me. I feel fully supported by my therapists, so much so I see two! Jennifer has already helped us implement improvements in our relationship after two sessions. Stephanie, Washingtonville, NY
Nourish Your Mind offers group therapy. The best part has been making real connections with people my age who may not have the same challenges as me, yet they are still comforting. It’s like a real life Breakfast Club. Life changing! Grace, Goshen, NY
The best parts about being a Nourish Your Mind client are the relationships the practitioners form with you and the multi-tiered supports in place. They genuinely work with you to reach attainable goals that improve your daily living. You can reach your practitioner or the management with ease and reliability. Anonymous
Really informative sessions, realistic feedback. Concrete discussions on behavior markers and how to understand thought patterns and decision making processes. Young staff. Current practices and literature applied to behavior modification therapy. Feels very up to date. It works. If you open up your mind and realize the balance necessary to live a specific way, the therapy works. Anonymous
